Hollow Oak tree (quercus robur)

Hollow Oak tree (quercus robur)

This old oak tree has been attacked by an organism, resulting in the tree becoming hollow over time. Looking up from the base of the tree to its canopy, this tree will not survive much longer. The hollowing was believed to have been caused due to infection from a fungus.
